In 2023, a dedicated group of School Social Workers throughout the state came together to discuss the unique challenges they faced in their profession. As their conversation deepened, it became clear that there was a need for more school social workers to support students effectively. Fueled by their passion and commitment, they worked tirelessly to grow their association and address this rising demand, laying the foundation for a stronger support network. Their efforts mark the beginning of an evovling journey to enhance the well-being of students in West Virginia.

In addition, the association will develop and maintain relationships among other educational disciplines and private and public organizations interested in the welfare of West Virginia students.
